Trusting AVs with smart HD mapping

  • Precise live mapping of highway and urban infrastructure used specifically for navigating AVs with over the air update.

  • Centimeter level accuracy as robots need precise instructions to be able to maneuver them suitably

  • AV is visualized with surroundings such as streets, road signs, parking bays, and curves; which allows for the safe operation of AVs. For example: vehicles can carefully change lanes and avoid dangerous situations.

Enable safer and efficient driving with connected vehicle communication technology (CV)

  • Involves cars communicating with each other using embedded on-board systems

  • Provisioned with safety data, for example: AVs will be able to self-report incidents and develop performance specific to each car in different areas

  • Dynamic Eco-Lanes and Eco-Speed Harmonization: Can help reduce carbon footprint, AVs communicate to drive at an eco-speed limit

  • Eco- Approach and Departure at Signalized Intersections: Can help reduce idling and unnecessary stops by communicating with smart traffic signals

Connectivity is a vital factor in the effective deployment of AV technology systems. An essential component in connectivity for AVs is the frequent communication of signal phase and timing data to the vehicle. This allows AVs to safely navigate through smart traffic signals without having to identify the signal colour optically. In addition to reducing wasted energy from braking and improving flow through signalized junctions. Besides, sharing data related to work zones, incidents, and other special events is critical for AVs to manoeuvre through unforeseen environments
